Imagine a mother sitting beside her child in a hospital in Sri Lanka, watching them fight for every breath in a battle against leukaemia. A fight no family ever expects, but one too many are forced to endure. Now imagine a group of compassionate individuals, not in Sri Lanka, but in the heart of London, stirred by that very scene, determined to make a difference. That spark, that unwavering compassion is where the story of the Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation United Kingdom (SLLFUK) begins.
Founded with one simple yet powerful purpose to stand with those battling leukaemia and other cancers in Sri Lanka. SLLFUK emerged from the deep belief that distance should never deny dignity, nor should geography dictate access to life-saving care. Rooted within the vibrant Sri Lankan diaspora in the UK, the Foundation acts as a bridge between generous hearts abroad and desperate needs at home.
At its core lies a commitment to supporters, families, clinicians, and institutions like Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama, Sri Lanka's main cancer treatment centre, where the realities of cancer are met with courage and where every piece of donated equipment means a fight prolonged, a life touched, a hope renewed.
SLLFUK believes that no child, mother, father or elder should face cancer alone. Through dedicated fundraising efforts, grassroot campaigns, and partnerships with community groups, corporate sponsors, and the Sri Lankan High Commission in London, the foundation continues to broaden its reach, deepen its impact, and shine a light of compassion across continents.

Our Mission
To support cancer patients in Sri Lanka, especially at Apeksha Hospital, by funding medical equipment and resources, mobilising compassionate community support, and building sustainable partnerships to enhance treatment capabilities.
