Red & Black Valentine’s Dance
Cultural & Social Events for a Cause
Members of the Sri Lanka Leukaemia Foundation (UK) were delighted to attend the vibrant “Red and Black Valentine’s Dance,” hosted by dedicated supporters Ajith Nihal and Blandina Alexis. The evening brought together members of the Sri Lankan community for a celebration filled with music, dance, and unity — all in the spirit of love and generosity. Beyond the celebration, the event provided an invaluable opportunity for SLLF UK to share its mission and highlight ongoing projects supporting the Apeksha Hospital (National Cancer Institute) in Sri Lanka. Executive members engaged with attendees, raising awareness about the Foundation’s life-saving initiatives and the continued need for community support. A special appreciation goes to the hosts for creating the platform to connect with the community, and to Sajith Wathsala, who eloquently presented the work of SLLF UK and helped inspire generosity during the event. Through these efforts, funds were raised to support patient care and critical hospital requirements. Events such as this demonstrate the strength of community-driven impact — where social gatherings become meaningful opportunities to give back and support those facing cancer with hope and dignity.
Impact: Raised awareness and funds to support ongoing medical and patient care initiatives at Apeksha Hospital, while strengthening community engagement in the UK.
